Singapore Dance Theatre is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Production Manager.
The Manager is responsible for all production activities and step in and lead all production aspects throughout the Company's production season
This position is a hands-on leader and collaborative communicator who are responsible for ensuring that production and technical aspects of each dance performance event are completed in a well-thought, organized, efficient, safe manner within the confines of managing a structured budget. Oversight includes managing Stage Management Team, Wardrobe Supervisor, outsource production staff, designers, interns as well as relationship coordination with Artistic/Creative Team, Venues/vendors (scenic, lighting, costume, make-up etc.) to deliver professional performances.
Duties Includes :
- Oversee the realization and fabrication of theatrical scenery stage, properties & costumes including obtaining specification, cost estimation, production process, installation and bump out of theatre.
- Organise and manage the storage, maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of the sets & costumes before & after performances.
- Execute technical fit up of theatrical properties at performance venue (local & overseas) & tackle ad-hoc malfunctions and cross management.
- Plan Production Schedules and oversee implementation.
- Evaluate new venue's technical specifications to ensure safety and appropriateness.

Requirements :
University degree in Art Management/ Theatre Studies /Theatre Management or its equivalent; preferably with years of working backstage experience in theatre. Good written and spoken English, conversant in Mandarin, strong organizational ability with good initiative and able to work under pressure. A team player with good interpersonal skills and possess initiative and ability work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Able to work irregular theatre hours and over-time.
Ability to have “glass half-full” perspective when facing difficult situations and managing any work-related crisis with professionalism is a desired asset for candidates.
