JEREMIE GAN
Artist

Jeremie started his ballet education from the age of two and a half with his mother who is a ballet teacher herself. Through her tutelage, he completed his RAD syllabus from Pre-Primary up to Advanced 2. Back in his home in Malaysia, Jeremie competed in competitions organized by The Dance Society of Malaysia (TDS Solo Classical Ballet Competition) and won 1st Prize in both Category 3 (Ages 11-14) and Category 2 (Ages 15-17) by the age of 14.

At the age of 15, Jeremie started to compete in international competitions and won Gold Medal in the B4 Division of the 9th Youth Ballet Stars Award and received a full scholarship to attend the New Zealand School of Dance at the Asian Grand Prix in Hong Kong. At the New Zealand School of Dance, he was awarded his Solo Seal and performed in the School’s annual Graduation Season for principal roles in works such as Balanchine’s Tarantella, Macmillan’s Concerto, Jack Carter’s Pas de Deux Romantique and in a world premiere of Dance Gallantries by Otto and Jiri Bubeníček. He was also seconded with the Royal New Zealand Ballet for their national tour of the The Wizard of Oz by Francesco Ventriglia of which he was fortunate enough to be able to perform two solo roles in this world premiere.

Jeremie joined Singapore Dance Theatre as an apprentice in January 2017, and was promoted to Artist in January 2018.
