JUSTIN ZEE
Artist

Justin was born in Victoria Australia, where he began dancing at the age of 7. Training locally at Jan Pianta’s School of Dance in the Cecchetti Method, Justin decided to further his dance training by taking a position at the National Theatre Ballet School. It was under the direction of Beverly Jane Fry he received his advanced diploma and was privileged to perform a wide variety of repertoire.

After graduating, he spent 3 months gaining experience overseas in Europe where he was privileged to receive training and coaching from some of the top companies and teachers in Europe, After his time in Europe he returned to Australia where he joined Melbourne City Ballet Company where he was able to perform many soloist roles in Contemporary and Classical works, the highlight being given the chance to dance Don Jose in there production of Carmen.

 

From Melbourne City Ballet he then Joined Teatrul de Balet Sibiu in Romania where he was able to dance in many full length classical ballets such as Swan Lake, Giselle, Don Quixote, and La Fille Mal Gardee as well as many new contemporary creations. After his time in Romania he moved to the Czech Republic where he joined the National Morvarian Silesian Theatre as a Coryphée. In this company, Justin was given a lot of opportunity to dance, and work with some amazing choreographers in works such as Chaplin by Mario Schroder, Cinderella by Paul Chamler, Carmina Burana by Youri Vamous. However the highlight of his time was dancing in Youri Vamou’s A midsummer night’s dream, which he was able to perform a leading role of Demetrius, one of the four lovers in Shakespeare’s tale.

Justin joined Singapore Dance Theatre as an Artist in July 2016 and has performed in The Nutcracker.
