Born in Singapore, Leane started her dance training at the age of 4 under the guidance of Lena Foo and was later accepted into School Of The Arts, Singapore. Following a dance immersion trip with Dancepointe Academy, she was offered a scholarship to further her dance training at the Central School of Ballet (CSB) in London, where she graduated in 2015 with a First Class BA(Hons) degree.

During her time in London, she had the opportunity to work with various guest teachers and choreographers namely Carole Gable, Aurora Bosch and Christopher Hampson as part of Ballet Central touring company.

Her time at CSB has also provided her with significant choreography experiences, including a neoclassical piece that won a prize in the school’s choreographic platform and earned an invitation to perform at the City of London Festival.

Transitioning back to Singapore, Leane joined Singapore Dance Theatre as an apprentice in 2017 and was promoted to Artist in 2019. Her repertoire includes notable performances in productions such as Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Coppélia, Don Quixote, Paquita, and a featured role of Chinese in Act 2 divertissement of Janek Schergen’s The Nutcracker and George Balanchine’s Serenade, The Four Temperaments, and Theme and Variations.

Leane’s versatility is further demonstrated through her involvement in works by Nil’s Christe’s Organ Concerto, Timothy Habour’s Linea Adora, as well as Timothy Rushton’s Quiver and Without You. Additionally, she has also performed in Choo-San Goh’s Schubert Symphony, Double Contrasts, Fives, In the Glow of the Night and Birds of Paradise.
