Chan Yee was born in Singapore, and at age 13, she was accepted into SOTA (School of The Arts Singapore), where she studied under the tutelage of Cheah Mei Sing and Natalie Clarke. In 2013, she went to New Zealand School of Dance (NZSD) and completed the 3 year training course, graduating with a Certificate in Dance and a Diploma in Dance Performance.


At NZSD, she worked with guest tutors such as Stephen Beagley, Anna-Marie Holmes, Wim Broeckx, amongst many others. She was also invited to take part in rehearsals of the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s Vodafone season, A Midsummer’s Night Dream.


While at NZSD, she has danced in Solitaire (Kenneth MacMillan), Concerto Barroco (Balanchine), as Paquita in Paquita Grand Pas De Duex, and 1st Movement principal in Kenneth MacMillan’s Concerto. She has also performed Odile’s variation from Swan Lake Act 3 at Kokomai Dance Feastival In Carterton and at Expressions Theatre in Rendezvous Dance.


Chan Yee joined Singapore Dance Theatre as an apprentice in January 2016 and has performed in Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Blue Snow, and Paquita.


Chan Yee was promoted to Artist in January 2017.
