Initiated in 2010 as an annual collaboration between SDT and young choreographers, the SDT Choreographic Workshop has seen and groomed many budding talents. The SDT Choreographic Workshop differs from other dance workshops as its intention was to build on developing choreographic language through a sense of exploration, rather than achieving a finished work for performance.
However, unlike our past 8 seasons, we are welcoming back three past participants this year for them to create three finished new works on SDT dancers; the choreographers are Sufri Juwahir, Sheriden Newman, and Goh Shou Yi.
SDT feels a great responsibility in stewarding the arts in Singapore, and this choreographic workshop has given a platform to many choreographers to find their voice in movement. Some of our other past participants include Christina Chan, Cici Chen, Gigi Gianti, Jereh Leong, Kiran Kumar, Koustav Basu Mallick, Max Chen, amongst many others.
