Discover contemporary dance and how it differs from classical ballet in this second installment of the popular Dance Appreciation Series.
Students will be introduced to new dance moves that encourage freedom of mind and emotions, learn the differences between classical and contemporary partnering, and how the variations in costumes and music selected can enhance the interpretation of each dance form.
During this hour -long session, dancers from the Singapore Dance Theatre will perform excerpts from Living Greens by Mohamed Noor Sarman (SDT's Assistant Ballet Master), Negro Y Blanco Pas de deux by Jeffrey Tan (SDT's resident choreographer) and Why Not by Paul Ocampo, set to "Who Wants To Live Forever" by rock band Queen.
Suitable for Upper primary and Secondary School Students.

For just $11(inclusive of SISTIC fee), students will get to enjoy an afternoon of dance at the Esplanade Concert Hall. The easy to understand and accessible performances aim to enhance the understanding of dance among new audiences and those keen to know more about the dance scene.
