BUTS 2006 will see the staging of three new choreographies by promising SDT artistes, Robert Mills, Sakura Shimizu and Tan Yaling. Also not to be missed is a re-work of Raymonda ACT III.

Divided into two weekends, BUTS audiences will have the chance to enjoy the versatility of SDT dancers in both the contemporary and classical genres.

To complete the BUTS experience, audiences can also look forward to a host of fringe activities such as schools’ performances, logic-9 challenge, face painting, balloon sculpting and glass jar painting at Fort Canning Green.

Audiences can pick up a gift or two from our range of exclusive merchandise, indulge in an array of food and beverages, pamper themselves by enjoying a massage or try out an exclusive range of skin and body care products.

There will also be nightly lucky draws with attractive prizes as well as a grand lucky draw!

Paradise Falling reflects the emotional downward spiral taken as structure falls into chaos. Whether it is interpreted as the breakdown of a relationship, of society, or other aspects of life, the human heart bears the scars from each fall we take.

Reflections at Dusk

Music: Symphony No. 5 Part 3 Adagietto
Composer: Gustav Mahler

Reflections at Dusk explores the depths of a woman’s emotions as she reflects about her relationships with the men in her life. A father, a lover, a brother, a friend and a son, the falling of dusk creates the perfect setting to reminisce about the different emotions each men evokes. Through a solo, pas de duex, duet and pas de tior, experience the happiness, sadness, pain and joys of this singular and complex woman.

Composer: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Marking the 250th anniversary of the birth of the great classical composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Singapore Dance Theatre pays homage to this great artiste with a new choreography simply entitled Mozart. Danced to the lyrical strains of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major, revel in the poise and elegance of this promising new choreography.

Raymonda Act III
Wedding Scene and Celebration

Celebrate the triumphant union of Raymonda and her beau, Jean de Brienne in this joyous reproduction of the third act of Raymonda. Danced to the beautiful score by Aleksandr Glazunov, the Wedding Scene and Celebration will showcase the vitality of SDT dancers in a colourful spectacle of classical ballet.
