14 - 17 March, Esplanade Theatre Coppélia is a colourful, well-loved full length classical ballet. This three-act ballet tells the light-hearted story of the mysterious Dr Coppélius who owns a beautiful life-sized puppet, Coppélia. This ballet is both sentimental and charming with original choreography by Arthur Saint-Leon and music by Leo Delibes.

26 – 28 July, Fort Canning Green Giselle, choreographed by Jean Coralli & Jules Perrot and staged by Artistic Director Janek Schergen, is one of the golden romantic classical ballets. Giselle is an amalgamated tale of devotion, betrayal and deception that epitomises this tragic love story. It tells the love story between a village maiden, Giselle and a nobleman, Albrecht. SDT will be staging this full-length classical production outdoors, amidst the lush greenery of Fort Canning Park.

26 - 29 september, esplanade theatre studio Peter and Blue's Birthday Party, is an hour-long children's ballet production which brings together the magic of fairy-tale and meaningful morals. Returning after the successful premiere in 2010, restaging in 2011 and a new sequel in 2012, this latest production will see the ever-inquisitive trio - Peter, his dog Blue and his cat Calico, embark on yet another magical adventure, ending off with a blast at huge birthday celebration!

1 - 3 november, national museum gallery theatre In its 4th year, Passages, our annual contemporary season, will feature short works by budding young choreographers as well as an inspiring new work by Kinsun Chan. Kinsun Chan has established an outstanding reputation in North America, Europe, and in Hong Kong, his parent's hometown. Prior to the performance, selected young talents will have the much awaited opportunity to undergo a 2 week choreographic workshop and set their works on SDT dancers. They will then showcase their work at Passages.

4 – 8 December, Esplanade Theatre SDT brings back the beloved classical ballet this Christmas season. The Nutcracker is set in a pre-WWI, turn-of-the-century, colonial Shanghai setting. Expect to see spectacular sets and costumes, along with the well-loved a familiar characters who will dance their way into your hearts.
