heidi zolker

Born and raised in Melbourne, Heidi graduated with a full-time diploma in dance from the National Theatre in Melbourne, under Beverly Jane Fry. She danced in New York with Ajkun Ballet Theatre before joining State Street Ballet in California. Heidi later joined City Ballet of San Diego, and then Sacramento Ballet, with whom she toured to China.


During her time in America, Heidi performed in many new and classic works. Some of her repertoire highlights include the title role in The Firebird, Princess Florine in Sleeping Beauty, and the Snow Queen in The Nutcracker. She has also performed principal/soloist roles in Twyla Tharp's Nine Sinatra Songs, Trey McIntyre's Second Before the Ground, and several George Balanchine ballets including Stars and Stripes Forever (Liberty Bell), Tarantella, and Theme and Variations.


Heidi joined SDT in January 2011, where she had the opportunity to perform as the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker (2011). Other highlights include Stanton Welch's Maninyas, the Pas de Trois and Big Swans in Swan Lake (2012), Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty (2012) and roles in George Balanchine's Serenade, Concerto Barocco, and Allegro Brillante. Some of Heidi's recent performances include Organ Concerto and ZIN! by Nils Christe, a soloist role in Jabula by Natalie Weir, and Age of Innocence by Edwaard Liang.

 

Heidi was promoted to First Artist in January 2012.
