Apart from playing to local fans, Singapore Dance Theatre has captivated audiences abroad as well, bringing its dancers and repertory to Southeast Asia and Europe. Dancegoers in South Korea, China, Australia, New Zealand and the United States have also had the pleasure of seeing the company in action.

In March 2005, the SDT performed at Sadler’s Wells’ Peacock Theater.

“… the Singapore Dance Theatre would seem a little Asiatic gem. The company’s strength lies in a seamless transition between strong classical technique and contemporary movement, effortlessly switching between turned-out to turned-in and back again.” – Graham Watts, March 2005 Ballet.co Magazine

“They moved with precision and poise, and they got you thinking how well suited the Asian body is to ballet…”- Sarah Frater, 11 March 2005 Evening Standard, London

“… dancers acquitted themselves with a stunning display of dancerly wit, style, grace and astonishing precision… The facial and physical beauty of its… performers, at the peak of their dance development, was also a gorgeous bonus.” – John Thaxter, March 2005 The Stage Online

Invitations to dance in Russia, Spain, France and Mexico attest to the company’s growing reputation in the dance world, and to its status as a cultural ambassador for Singapore. The company has also been invited to the Seoul International Dance Festival in Korea this coming October 2006.
